What Happened To Backpage and Classifieds

The world was a much different place a few years ago. If you weren’t actively looking for sex back then, you probably didn’t notice any real change. It’s been extreme, though. There are far too many people that never experienced sites like Backpage that revolved around personal ads for horny people. These were classified sites where men and women could advertise the fact that they were looking for a little action. They served as ways to find hook ups without having to leave the house on your search. You could start looking in the afternoon and have someone in your bedroom that night. It was a great time to be alive and horny, but those days have passed.

What Happened To Backpage and Classifieds

It all started with Craigslist

Craigslist was the original classified site that started it all. People could use it to find anything from used furniture to a blowjob. It flew under the radar for many years and served its user base very well. It could have gone on forever, but it was slowly taken over by prostitutes. What used to be a great place to find an NSA hook up was now just a platform for hookers to advertise their services. If you were willing to pay, it was your destination, but it was never possible for it to survive once the government started taking notice.

Sex trafficking is bad

The sitting members of the government all got together and decided that underage sex trafficking is a bad thing. It took them a few centuries to come to that decision, but they finally got there. It was a good thing to finally admit, but the way they went about it was all wrong. They decided to hold web sites accountable for the ads that their users posted. What we ended up with were sites like Craigslist, where people posted ads for their sexual services, on the hook for the things that they were selling. The owners were opening themselves up to arrest for allowing the people to use their site for its intended purpose. It forced Craigslist to shut down its personal ads section and the sex lives of millions were ruined overnight.

Backpage took over

With a massive hole, there’s always someone willing to fill it. Backpage came along and promised to be a place where men and women could once more place their ads for sex. They laughed in the face of the law and openly touted their services. It may not have been as good as Craigslist was in its heyday, but it certainly provided a service. Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time before the law decided to make an example out of them.

They got shut down

Backpage was seized by law enforcement in 2018. Just like that, the site that took up the Craigslist mantle was also shut down. Trying to access the site today only leads to a notice from the department of justice. Hooking up and buying sex was once again only a memory to the freedom loving men and women who loved to do it.

The newest place to get laid

The biggest players may be gone, but that doesn’t mean that all is lost. Sites like Adposta are up and running and ready to get you laid. Anyone can post an ad or respond to one. There are always going to be people looking for sex. This site is where you can go to find them. It’s a place for people who love sex to get together and have as much of it as they can without the government telling them to keep it in their pants.
