Nobody can argue that an Aghanim Scepter is a fantastic item in Dota 2. However, on some heroes, it’s a lot more significant than on others.
In the past, this item worked only on the ultimate abilities of heroes, and not all heroes had the upgrade. However, not long ago, Valve decided to change all of that.
All heroes have Aghanim Scepter upgrades, and those upgrades don’t have to be for the ultimate ability. Some heroes even got new skills, while others got upgrades to one or multiple of their basic skills.
Today we talk about the most overpowered Aghanim’s Scepter upgrades in the game, and if you like to bet on Dota 2 on dota-bet then you should read until the end. If you see a Scepter being purchased by one of these heroes, be sure to understand that the win rate has just shifted to the team with one of these heroes.
Zeus
Zeus simply had to be the first hero on this list. Aghanim’s Scepter is a must-go item whenever playing with Zeus.
In the past, Aghanim’s Scepter only increased the damage of his ultimate ability. However, nowadays, Zeus got a brand new ability called “Nimbus.”
It’s a global ability that is a cloud that casts Lightning Bolt inside a small AOE. If there are multiple targets, it will randomly hit one. It’s a great way to stop channeling spells, teleports, or heroes that are simply trying to run away.
Lion
Although usually a support hero that rarely gets the chance to purchase the item, Lion is on our list. Because once he gets the opportunity to purchase it, or is playing a core hero, it’s a must!
The gigantic cooldown of the ultimate ability Finger of Death gets significantly reduced and becomes a small AOE. In some team fights, Lion can cast this spell even two times, completely annihilating the enemy heroes.
For supports, the items may be too expensive. However, in teams where there is an Alchemist, Lion should be prioritized to be given an Aghanim’s Scepter!
Ember Spirit
A very flashy hero, Ember Spirit, is one of the most popular heroes in the professional scene and pubs. The hero had a couple of skill changes in the past couple of years. However, none of them was as significant as when it received the Aghanim’s Scepter upgrade.
Ember is a very elusive hero, especially with at least one defensive item. With the Scepter upgrade, you almost become unkillable unless you mess up horribly.
Additional remnants cast range, and increased speed of remnants is all you get from the Aghanim’s Scepter. Basically, you can always enter or escape a fight at will. Adding an Octarine Core to the build makes the hero unstoppable.
Dragon Knight
A very popular mid hero that isn’t that flashy and is also among the heroes that received his Aghanim’s Upgrade amongst the most recent ones is Dragon Knight. His ultimate, which turns you into a real dragon, slows, deals damage over time, and splashes on attacks.
The Aghanim’s Scepter upgrades that Dragon into a 4th – Black Dragon that has all the abilities of the previous dragons, free patching, and increased magical resistance.
Nonetheless, Dragon Knight is a very slow farmer, and getting to the point of having an Aghanim’s Scepter without being punished early on is very hard.
However, when you do get it, just go down the mid lane with your team, and you will win!
