Memorial Day celebrations are not merely smiles and flowers. Indeed, they are about patriotism and sacrifice. While we slept calmly in our warm beds during the cold, snowy nights, our soldiers were cautiously sitting on the hills, listening to the tiny voices in the surroundings. How lucky are we to now be able to sleep safely thanks to them? It is our duty to remember them and the service they gave to their country so that our lives could be what they are today. There are many ways to celebrate this day, from a big get together with family and friends to something as simple as hoisting the national flag and remembering these brave soldiers. For the latter, all you need to get your hands on is a flag or two and some flag poles for sale in order to be able to display your patriotism and show your support
They live with us, they live within us!
Not those who left us have merely left the world. They lived for humanity and shed their lives for our community. Wishing and remembering them on this prestigious day will make those souls ponder with pride and joy. Their words and deeds echoes in the air and how can we stop ourselves from playing and wishing them? When the breeze carries those enthralling memories, the only thing we can do is to wish with the whole heart. Remembering the words,
And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
~Lee Greenwood
They are dead; but they live in each Patriot’s breast,
And their names are engraven on honor’s bright crest.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Peace to each manly soul that sleepeth;
Rest to each faithful eye that weepeth…
~Thomas Moore
But the freedom that they fought for, and the country grand they wrought for,
Is their monument to-day, and for aye.
~Thomas Dunn English
A day to be grateful is a day lived worthy

The love for the nation is not just paying taxes, its remembering the good people who made our country to this glory. Patriotism is the gratefulness towards the soldiers who saved us from huge threats. Patriotism is the memories of those wars that made our country like this. Patriotism is gratefulness and remembrance.
Deeds matter, so as words

Their graves should ever be green.

“Memorial Day this year is especially important as we are reminded almost daily of the great sacrifices that the men and women of the Armed Services make to defend our way of life.”
“Memorial Day isn’t just about honoring veterans, its honoring those who lost their lives. Veterans had the fortune of coming home. For us, that’s a reminder of when we come home we still have a responsibility to serve. It’s a continuation of service that honors our country and those who fell defending it.”

Be proud, Be brave
When your family is celebrating the birthdays and anniversaries with bunches of flowers and sweets, there are a few of them who shed tears in the absence of their loved one. When the majority of the people die from living for the family and when a minor portion shed their life for love for a spouse, here we have a lot of them who left their family, life and all comforts to save the world, to save us. Respecting them is a pride, a feeling, and an honour.
