There are thousands of gadgets that are useful around the house, but I wanted to show you some of the coolest ones out there on the market currently. Some of these might be new-age technology and some might be old school devices that everyone should have around the house. Hope you find a fun new device to take home today!
Smart Home Device
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the first device I am going to suggest is a smart home device. These are by far one of the coolest things out there on the market and they come at a really affordable price. Whether you want the Google Home or the Amazon Alexa, both are great choices.
After you go through the simple process of setting up the device it’s really easy to set reminders, timers, make phone calls, set alarms, play a specific type of music, find out how long it will take to get somewhere, play games, and literally so much more! While not everyone is into the new technology that the smart home devices offer, I think it is by far the #1 best invention in the past few years.
Wifi connected plug for bathroom accessories
Many of you out there have walked out of the house and started driving to work only to wonder “Did I turn off the curling iron?”. This can happen to any of us out there which is why the creation of wifi smart plugs are one of the best additions to the “smart home” concept.
These wifi connector plugs are also perfect to connect to lamps, clothes iron, outdoor Christmas lights, and many other outlets. Many of these can be controlled by using either phone aps or smart home devices and they are great ways to ensure you save on energy and get peace of mind.
Multimeter
This is a device that every home shouldn’t be without. A simple multimeter by different companies (my favorite being the Fluke company) is a perfect device that will allow you to check and test common household and vehicle problems that you can encounter many times throughout the year.
Utilizing a multimeter would allow you to test home batteries to determine their current strength/life left. It can also be used to determine if an outlet is still receiving electricity or not. Some of the vehicle tests it can do is to check if your car has a battery issue or not or if a fuse is no longer working so you can get a new one.
The great thing about using a multimeter is that it’s easy to use and it ensures you don’t waste money paying technicians for minor issues that can be fixed easily at home.
Light Up Charging Cables
Most of us throughout the day continually plug in our phones to get it charged back up to that 100%. Brand new light up cords have been created to keep you informed of your phones charge rate.
Once your phone is fully charged this cord will light up. While it’s charging is in progress the cord will dim down to preserve energy and show that it’s currently charging. This is a great way to visually see when your phone is charged up so you can grab it and go.
Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner for hard to reach places
For those of us who have really busy schedules we don’t have time to always clean up the dirt left behind after we come home or the fur left behind by the dog. Which is why many years ago they created the robotic vacuum cleaners which have evolved and improved greatly every year since.
I highly suggest spending the few hundred to get a Roomba or a similar robotic vacuum. They can be programmed to startup once you’ve all left for work for the day or overnight while you’re sleeping. They survey the room for obstacles and make a pattern to ensure that 100% of the floor gets covered. It also has a dirt scanning system that will determine if there is a heavily soiled area it will cover it multiple times until it no longer detects dirt in that area.
It can be used on all flooring types (wood, linoleum, and carpets) and is pet/child friendly and can often be entertaining to watch it roll around the room.
