Trust is a critical quality for a partnership. If you have even the slightest doubts about the integrity of a person, you probably shouldn’t get into a business partnership with them.
- They are passionate about the product.
Your business partner needs to have as much belief in your product as you do. When times are tough, you won’t have a monetary incentive to keep working hard. In such a situation, the only thing that will keep the partnership going is if both of you have an unshakeable belief in the work that you are doing.
- They should understand the customer’s needs.
A good business partner should be able to understand what the end user of the product needs. They should be able to offer insights into pricing, demand and customer outreach. Understanding how the market is responding to your product is crucial if you want to build a successful business.
- They should be good leaders.
Since you’re entering into a partnership with someone, you will be delegating some aspects of your business to them. Therefore, they should be independently capable of building and leading teams with diverse functions.
