2018’s Most High Tech (And Cool!) Workout Equipment

CES 2018 has come and gone and we saw some exceptional pieces of fitness technology and equipment that sparked our interest.

Sure, tried and true equipment can get the job done.  But who isn’t interested in knowing what the next big thing is in the fitness world?  Better yet, who isn’t interested in getting in on these equipment trends and becoming the best version of themselves possible?

Let’s look at what 2018 has in store for the fitness industry so you can get excited about what is sure to come to a gym near you.

1. Peloton Tread

2018’s Most High Tech (And Cool!) Workout Equipment

This was probably the most popular piece of equipment in the fitness category at CES this year.  Complete with a 32-inch screen for streaming live or on-demand fitness classes, this sleek treadmill breaks the mold of stationary bikes and gives Peloton lovers a reason to run rather than bike. you can plow more for additional source of running headphones & earbuds.

2. Suunto 3 Fitness

Activity trackers are nothing new.  However, a neat feature that has been added to standard ones such as heart-rate monitoring, step counting, calorie tracking, and sleep monitoring, is the ability to create custom designed workout schedules based on your current activity level.

The Suunto 3 Fitness wearable is making waves with its built-in technology that challenges you to do better, advises you when to slow it down, and gives you a personalized workout based on your individual needs.

3. Advanced Earbuds

After CES we no longer believe that earbuds are simply for streaming our favorite Pandora station.  In fact, thanks to Soul Electronics, we now see headphones in a whole new light.

Whether you are out for a run, eyeing the best elliptical machine in the gym, or are hitting the weights hard in your home gym, these new AI headphones are there to track your progress.

Measuring speed, distance, cadence, step length, and step width, these sweat proof earbuds are great for those training for a marathon.  However, you can track all of your workout’s progress using the accompanying app and get a bigger picture of your entire workout so you can make improvements.

4. Black Box VR

2018’s Most High Tech (And Cool!) Workout Equipment

With so much interest buzzing around the future of virtual reality, it is no wonder someone got creative and introduced a virtual reality gym for hardcore trainers to take advantage of.

Offering users a 30-minute, full-body workout, the virtual reality gym basically turns your workout into an interactive game.  This technology is going to be available in Black Box gyms, which are said to be coming to the United States soon, and will give gum goers an entirely new outlook on their daily workout.

5. Spire Swim Tracker

Swimmers can finally feel like they are part of advanced fitness technology thanks in large part to the Spire Swim Tracker.

Simply attach your tracking tag to your custom swimsuit and sync all of your swim activity to the Swim.com app.  With this affordable swim tracker, you can log time and distance, all while knowing the battery is meant to outlast even your swimsuit.

As we move forward into 2018, it is exciting to see what the fitness industry has in store for the consumer.  And after this year’s CES, we can only imagine what next year will bring.
