Paytm Mall To Fortify Its Logistics Network And Projects To Pour $35 Million For Development

The plan to advance the logistics and technology infrastructure has been rolled out by Indian e-commerce and e-payment platform, Paytm. The firm intends to invest $35 Million in its logistics infrastructure to augment its market position.

Paytm Ecommerce Pvt. Ltd. backed by Alibaba stated that it projects to reduce the delivery time for merchants that are onboard. Paytm is presently spreading its logistics network by coordinating with the local merchants in order to deliver the products on the same day or next day.

In the first part, the firm had restricted its contributions only to electronic products and appliances in 25 cities. Now, it intends to spread influence to more 100 cities and also include more categories of products.

COO of Paytm Mall, Amit Sinha said, “We aspire to put up a reliance and competent logistics network to facilitate neighborhood shopkeepers to offer more expedient shopping experience for the customers and allow brands to save around 50% on logistics cost, as with this they can get around the inter-city logistics expenditure. In the upcoming period, we will swiftly boost the products quantity and pin codes as well.”

Paytm Mall, merely a month back had removed 6 out of 14 of its logistics partners along with 30 courier centers as part of the strategy to merge its overall operations and advance the customer experience.

The company is operating its Paytm Mall operations with three of its courier’s partners comprising Xpressbees, Delivery, and Bluedart to deliver ordered products to 17,000 pin code areas in the country. It has also joined hands with some dedicated local couriers such as Book a Wheel and Shadowfax to stay geared up for futuristic expansions.

Paytm had freshly refurbished its seller on boarding mechanism to augment and achieve the trust of its customers. Associate merchants now need to provide brand approval letters than conducting stringent quality and service inspection. There will be also a requirement to present proof of shop location and photos, goods and services tax identification number, and registration numbers for listing the products on Paytm Mall.

The company also affirmed that it will allow brands and shopkeepers to implement refund, exchange, and the return policies for their products. It will also offer an end-to-end support to its logistics partners. The e-commerce firm is expanding its partner network with the figure of 3,000 new agents. It is also upgrading the inventories of local shopkeepers and brands stores and looking forward to convert the footfall of offline customers to online through its strategies.
