Friday Evening Chores After A Stressful Work Week

Simple to understand? Looks like. But there can be an alternate reality. There is a lot going behind the scene. In this article, we have shared the thought process and current social trends with respect to the subject matter.

Is today’s work-life Toxic? Here is a friend’s experience on 9-5 work life:

I’m not a morning person. I don’t like to get up early, and I hate the idea of getting up before everyone else in my house. But I do have to be at work by 8:30 am. So, I wake up around 7:45 am every weekday morning, shower, eat breakfast, and then go back to bed for another hour or so until it’s time to leave. This is how I spend my weekdays.

And on weekends, I sleep even later. When I get home from work, I am exhausted. My body has been working all day long, but there isn’t much energy left. It takes me about an hour to wind down after work, and I can barely function.

So, what happens? Well, I start thinking about work. Work stuff. Work projects. Work deadlines. The list goes on. And while these things are important, they take away from my personal life. They suck out any joy I might otherwise feel.

And as a result, I become more stressed than ever. Because if you think about it, stress is just a fancy word for anxiety. Anxiety is the feeling of worry and fear over something that hasn’t happened yet. Stress is the feeling of worry over something that has already happened. Now, I know that some people thrive off of stress. Some people love being under pressure. They enjoy the rush of adrenaline that comes after finishing the job at hand.

But I’m not one of those people. I’ve never really enjoyed the thrill of finishing a project. In fact, when I was younger, I used to dread having to write papers. I would procrastinate for weeks, hoping that no one would notice. Then I’d end up with a huge pile of assignments that were due the next day. And I hated writing essays. I didn’t want to write them. I wanted someone else to do it for me. Nowadays, I still avoid tasks that require effort. If I need to write a paper, I will find someone else who wants to help me. Or I’ll ask a friend to proofread it for me.

How do people see Friday Eve?

– It’s Friday night and I am having dinner with friends. We are hanging out and talking about our days. The conversation is always interesting because we all have different stories to tell. Sometimes we talk about work and sometimes we talk about other things.

– On Friday evenings I usually spend time with family. My parents live close by so we often hang out together. On weekends I like to cook and eat good food. I also enjoy watching movies and TV series.

– Do you have plans for this weekend? Yes, I have a lot of plans. This weekend I will be spending time with my boyfriend. He lives nearby and we plan to spend some quality time together.

– Have you ever had a bad experience on Friday eve? No, I haven’t. I don’t think anyone has ever had a bad experience. We all know what we want to do!

– Day after Friday? The weekend starts early. I wake up at 7 am and have breakfast. Then I go to the gym where I exercise for an hour. Afterward I come home and have lunch. In the afternoon I clean the house and make sure everything is in order. I also catch up on some reading. Later I watch movies and TV shows.

As you see Friday Eve has become like a festive time which people excitingly look forward to. Now we have two perspectives about the situation.

  1. Are we really frustrated with our day-to-day work? or

Life Beyond Rat-Race

If you’ve been a Friday night person, here are a few suggestions to get you started on your way to living your best life all week long.

  • Remember that you are not the role; rather, you are a person performing the job. Set boundaries. Don’t get too attached to a company or job that you don’t like.
  • If you have been experiencing burn-out and negativity for a while, it is important to start building yourself up again. Keep a journal of all the things you do every day that add value to the world around you. You can do this by writing down the things you do that make the world a better place.
  • Get up and move around. Take a walk outside or do a lap around your office to reset yourself when the work stress rises.
  • Use the extra time for new skills! Explore online free classes. Learning something new is the fastest way to empower yourself.
  • Avoid negativity and those who spread negativity.
  • You must take your work seriously and do it the way you think is best, otherwise, everything will start to fall apart. Nothing can make you feel more defeated than disappointing yourself.
