MailChimp Tips and Tricks

Many people have been using MailChimp for a while in their email marketing services. As seen on the article about MailChimp vs Constant Contact, only a few of those users who subscribe to your newsletter do get your emails as many emails are blocked; it is true that most emails fail to be delivered to your subscribers for numerous reasons. Sometimes you’re the users ISP provider can block the emails or the emails are blocked by the user’s spam filter where he/she cannot see it yet it is delivered.

In this post, we have shared some MailChimp tips that will enhance your email performance. You may also use MailChimp alternatives as they are also available.

Let’s find out the tips!

  1. Take advantage of the MailChimp’s Customer Support services

MailChimp’s customer support is excellent. It is one of the services with an extensive knowledge base that offers good customer service via online chats.

If you experience any hitches with your MailChimp account, you can chat with their customer service personnel.

The customer service representatives will help to see whether there is a problem with your account and help to solve the problem.

  1. Minimize your email send rate

Some ISPs have a limit of the emails you can send in a given session. If you send more than their limit, their software marks you as a spammer and blocks the remaining emails. To avoid being blocked by ISPs, send your emails in small quantities like 200 emails at a time and ensure to pause after every 200 emails sent.

  1. Observe the timing of your emails

Here, you must be aware of the time your recipients is awake and can check their emails. Sending emails to businesses during the time when they are not working will make it hard for emails to be seen.

Imagine sending your emails on Friday evening by the time it reaches Monday, your email will have been buried way down the list such that it can’t be seen.

Your recipient will look the recent emails and yours may be overlooked or even deleted without being read. To ensure your email is delivered and that it will have more chances of being read, send it at the right time.

  1. Ask your subscribers to whitelist you

When someone subscribes to your email list, ask them to add your email to their whitelist to make your messages not to be blocked by their spam filters.

  1. Make use of MailChimp’s drag and drop templates

Even though the drag and drop approach usually have some limitations and is not customized, many users can create email templates they like.

Follow the steps below to create an email template in your MailChimp account.

  • Select a template from your MailChimp dashboard and then hit the “Create Template” option on the top right corner
  • While on the Templates page, check the predesigned templates and choose the one you need and go into the drag and drop section.
  • Drag and drop your elements from the right section into your email template on the left side.
  • Modify the elements until it is what you want.

The drag and drop option is good as it does not require coding.
